Objets trouvés

Robin Lopvet

22 January - 22 February 2026

Created during a four-day residency in Brussels by Robin Lopvet (FR, 1990), the series Objets trouvés continues an ongoing exploration of the contemporary still life. Here, the principle of collection and composition shifts into the urban space: the city becomes a vast field of exploration where photographed objects replace studio elements. Each image emerges from a walk, a route, and a specific moment in time. The visual materials — drawn from the Jeu de Balle market, shopping arcades, building façades, streets, or fruit stalls — serve as the raw matter for hybrid compositions, halfway between documentary observation and symbolic construction. The project questions the multiple layers that make up Brussels: its cultural heritage, its commercial everyday life, its perpetual construction sites, its waste, and its icons. Through Objets trouvés, photography becomes a tool for assembling and rewriting reality.
