PhotoBrussels Festival: The unmissable Photography Event in Brussels

PhotoBrussels Festival is an annual photography festival open to all Brussels residents, Belgians, and other visitors in the Brussels-Capital Region. The festival offers visitors a route through exhibitions in numerous cultural venues (art galleries, museums, art centers, etc.) in the Belgian capital. With each passing year, the number of participating locations grows. The 10th edition of PhotoBrussels Festival will take place from January 22th to February 22th, 2026.

“PhotoBrussels Festival is much more than just a cultural event;
it’s a vibrant celebration of photography at a time when
the city becomes a canvas for artistic exploration.”

- Delphine Dumont, Founder

The Month of photography : A precious opportunity for many visitors and art enthusiasts

Created in 2016 at the initiative of Hangar by Delphine Dumont, the PhotoBrussels Festival aims to gather all enthusiasts, actors, and professionals of contemporary photography for a month.

PhotoBrussels Festival spans multiple locations across the city, encouraging attendees to discover Brussels while engaging with photographic art. The month-long event features a rich schedule of exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and guided tours—essential moments for dialogue and creative exchange.

Since 2022, a coordination committee manages the festival's organization and fosters synergy among the different participating venues :

L’Enfant Sauvage / Pauline Caplet

box galerie / Alain D’hooge

Atelier Contraste / Nicolas van Brande

La Nombreuse / Lucas Castel and Martin Gallone

Contretype / Olivier Grasset

Hangar / Delphine Dumont and Tina Rainoldi

Fondation A Stitching / Didier Vervaeren

A Major Cultural Player in the Brussels-Capital Region

PhotoBrussels Festival positions Brussels as a key player on the international photography scene. As part of the EMOP (European Month of Photography) network — alongside Berlin, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Paris, and Vienna — the festival fosters European cooperation, supports emerging artists, and promotes the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Every year, the event attracts a wide audience: local residents, Belgians, international visitors, art lovers, collectors, and photography professionals. With exhibitions, talks, workshops, and guided tours, PhotoBrussels Festival becomes a platform for discovery, dialogue, and cultural exchange throughout the month.

An International Gathering Around Photography

With increasing attendance and growing media coverage, PhotoBrussels Festival strengthens cultural connections and broadens access to contemporary art. Each edition reaffirms its ambition: to make Brussels a vibrant hub for photography, open to the world.
