Pepe Atocha

After studying graphic design in the 1990s, Pepe Atocha obtained a master’s degree in photography in Lima in 2016. Nestled in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the jungle became his experimental ground. Devoting himself to experimental analog photography, Pepe Atocha seeks ways to represent the living, while questioning our relationship with photographic technique and aesthetics. Pepe Atocha has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as Ayañawi - Grow Up at the Rencontres d’Arles (France), The Inconscious of Medicinal Plants at the Guangzhou Museum of Art (China) and most recently, Underground at the Museo Villa dei Cedri, Bellinzona (Switzerland).
