Lucas Leffler (BE, 1993)

Lives and works in Brussels (Belgium)

Lucas Leffler studied photography at the Haute École Libre de Bruxelles Ilya Prigogine until 2016, before continuing his training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, from which he graduated in 2019. He completed his studies in 2024 at Le Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Arts (Tourcoing). He has exhibited extensively, mainly in Belgium and France. His work was shown in 2021 at the Approche and Art Paris fairs with Galerie Intervalle, in 2022 at Galerie Contretype (Brussels), and in 2024 and 2025 at Lee-Bauwens Gallery (Brussels). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including at Photo Elysée (Lausanne) in 2020, at Hangar in 2021 as part of the 5th PhotoBrussels Festival, at FOMU (Antwerp) within the .tiff #09 programme, and at the Biennale de l’Image Tangible via Galerie Menil’8 (Paris). In 2023, he exhibited at Galerie Talmart (Paris), the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Paris), and Galerie Intervalle (Paris).In 2024, his work was presented at the Centre International d’Art Contemporain de Carros and at Paris Photo. The following year, he again exhibited at Paris Photo and at the Triennale Art Public (Bouillon, Belgium). A recipient of the Picto Lab – Experimenting with Image award in 2022 and the Fonds Sébastien van der Straten in 2023, his works are included in numerous collections, including the New York Public Library, FOMU (Antwerp), Photo Elysée – Musée cantonal de la photographie (Lausanne), the Boghossian Foundation (Brussels), Cloud Seven / Frederic de Goldschmidt (Brussels), and Contretype (Brussels). Lucas Leffler published Zilverbeek, The Silver Creek in 2019 with The Eriskay Connection, and Analog Collapse (RVB Books) in 2026.
