Louis Lekien (BE, 1998)
Lives and works in Brussels (Belgium) and Paris (France)
Self-taught, Louis Lekien began developing his artistic language alongside his studies at the École de Recherche Graphique (ERG, Brussels) in 2018. That same year, he co-founded the creative studio Bleunuit, which he directed for five years. Following this period dedicated to production, photography, and art direction, he chose in 2023 to focus entirely on his personal artistic practice. His first performance, Entre deux, presented at the IMAX Headquarters (Los Angeles, USA) in 2023, marked the beginning of a new creative phase—more intimate and experimental, centred on letting go.
Traces of this performance lie at the core of his work, which he explores through analogue printing. He considers the image as a living material, interested in what it becomes once revealed and transformed: a sensitive space where freedom and journey coexist. In June 2024, he presented his first solo exhibition, Entre deux, in a private space in Brussels. He continued this approach with a second solo exhibition in May 2025, Entre deux pas, unveiling new analogue works stemming from the same exploration.
