Gaëlle Choisne (FR, 1985)

Lives and works in Paris and Fougères (France)

Gaëlle Choisne received her National Higher Diploma in Fine Art from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon in 2013, and graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in Amsterdam in 2019. Her work has been exhibited internationally since 2015, beginning at La Centrale Powerhouse (Montréal, Canada), the same year she participated in the Havana Biennial (Cuba) and the Lyon Biennale. She subsequently exhibited at Galerie Untilthen (Paris) in 2016 and 2018, and took part in the Sharjah Biennial (United Arab Emirates) in 2017, the same year her work was also shown at the CAFA Art Museum (Beijing, China). In 2019, Gaëlle Choisne presented a solo exhibition at The Mistake Room (Los Angeles, USA). Her work was then exhibited at the Pera Museum (Istanbul, Turkey) in 2020. More recently, she has developed the Temple of Love cycle, presented notably at MAC VAL (Vitry-sur-Seine, France) and at the Palais de la Porte Dorée – National Museum of Immigration History (Paris) in 2022, at the KfW Stiftung, Villa 102 (Frankfurt) in 2024, followed by a solo exhibition at Scuola Piccola Zattere (Venice) in 2025. In 2024, she was awarded the Prix Marcel Duchamp at the Centre Pompidou (Paris) by the ADIAF (Association for the International Diffusion of French Art). Her works are included in several public and private collections, including Reiffers Art Initiatives (Paris), the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, and the Cnap – Centre nation des arts plastiques (Paris).
