The Well, Here... project has its origins in the photographer's strange interest in the “Pionneer plate”, a compendium of human information sent to hypothetical extraterrestrials during a space mission.
Using a variety of techniques and media (silver or digital, documentary or staged), Bastien Communi has decided to bring together random, seemingly unrelated icons of everyday life, memories and traces, faces and landscapes, leaving the reader free to construct a sense of strangeness between the sequences, balancing between reality and fiction.
